Pure Coat 8550.
Pure Coat 8550 Aluminum spray polyurea hybrid aluminum elastomer roof coating forms a superior, advanced monolithic roofing system that will encapsulate and protect the roof better than other roofing systems. Excellent weatherability - QUV Weather meter exposure tests, equivalent to 15 years, showed no visible deterioration or change in physical properties. High UV resistance provides lower roof temperatures. Resistant to ponding water.
The advanced polymer hybrid technology has produced a polymer coating with high tensile strength, elongation, hardness and tear resistance. Self-flashing greatly reduces or eliminates parapet, stack, vent and pitch pocket leaks.
USES
Intended for use as a spray applied protective roof coating for use over concrete, metal, polyurethane foam and smooth built-up roofs. Pure Coat 8550 Aluminum should not be used directly over rough built-up roofs unless polyurethane foam is used to create a smooth surface. Can also be used over various single-ply membranes. Designed to be applied by high pressure heated spray equipment.
APPLICATION
Care should be taken to ensure proper mixing of Pure Coat 8550 Aluminum. Drums must be power mixed. Mix all drums with a 1½ horsepower air driven mixer (do not use auger type mixer) for a minimum of 15 to 45 minutes depending upon the temperature of the product on the day of application.
High pressure heated plural component spray equipment capable of maintaining a constant temperature of 140° - 160°F and 1500 psi minimum pressure with a 1:1 volume mix ratio. Through testing, it has been determined that installation at the proper temperature of 150° to 160°F and 2000 psi minimum pressure at the gun will produce the optimum membrane.
Pure Coat 8550 Aluminum coating will set in 2-10 minutes at 70°F (tack free time is 10-30 seconds), depending on the film thickness and substrate temperature. Product can be placed into service after four hours of cure time at 70°F minimum.
Pure Coat 8550 Aluminum has a theoretical coverage of one gallon per 1600 sq. ft. at 1 mil thickness.
